More than 100 delegates met at the WACO Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Madrid, Spain, in April for what was the 94th meeting of its type.

“The AGM was a terrific success with both engaging presentations and 1,118 bilateral meeting sessions taking place over the course of three days,” said Richard Charles, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), WACO.

“We would like to thank our wonderful hosts, Cotransa, and congratulate them as they celebrate their 50th anniversary; we wish them every success for the next fifty years!”

On day one of the conference, Charles presented a WACO update which was followed by keynote speaker Lars Jensen’s, Vespucci Consulting, ‘Container Shipping Outlook’.

The day one programme ended with a member presentation from South Africa-based Barloworld Logistics Africa.

Day two began with keynote speaker Hind Chitty, from Drewry Shipping Consultants, describing the ‘Container Market Outlook’.

This was followed with member presentations from BAFCO International Shipping & Logistics Co., and finally logistics software provider Slync.io.

The proceedings began on Sunday 3rd April with a welcome reception, sponsored by TransGlobal Freight Management Ltd.

The headline sponsor for the meeting was supply chain software company CargoWise One.
